Summer on the Bay

I see a Hundred miles
The coastline beyond
I've waited all my life
For this day to come

I take it with open eyes
the sky and the sea
I see Santa Cruz from here
But it can't see me

I'm learning to live without
The things that I need
Like snowfall and thunder storms
And Sesame Street

The waves break like wedding bells
on all that I've been
I love her, I'm sure of it
But that can't make sense

Lord, smile down on me
I break like these waves
It's true and it's beckoning
With tireless grace

The ocean's a silver screen
It sings out my song
I am a silohoutte
She is the sun
