Oh, I'm so excited.
I have a tendency to complain about Augusta. I'm aware of it, and I know that it's unwarranted. Usually, I complain because I feel like I miss out on a lot of things that I love to do (art, concerts, pretending to be a surfer;) as here, some of the aspects of the culture that I identify with tend to be replaced by the aspects of this southern culture that I know nothing about. Well, I'm happy to say that I will have very little to complain about this summer. I've been blessed with an opportunity to come home for a couple of weeks and work with a local Navy recruiter. Lauren will be coming up for a wedding while I'm there, and will be staying the second week with me at my parents' house. As excited as I am about all of that, I'm also excited about what's going down the following week. On Sunday, June 7th, Lauren and I will make our way back south to Dixie, and stop in Atlanta for a BON IVER CONCERT!!! If you haven't heard Bon Iver, you should. But, it gets better. I believe that I have driven home the fact that I love Jon Foreman. He's teamed with Nickel Creek's Sean Watkins to form Fiction Family. They put out an album earlier this year, and I've been wearing out the mp3s(if you can do that) of several of the tracks since I bought it. Well, God has smiled on Georgia. Because, on Friday the 12th, Lauren and I are going to see FICTION FAMILY in CONCERT!!!! With special guest SARA WATKINS!!! Oh, I'm so excited. Things are finally looking up for ole Mondo Davis.
