I love you too
awash
tempted to despair at these mornings that should not exist
wherein we sit
contemplating the quickest route
to blissful ignorance
and the convocation of all things
and here
in this moment of revision
i read the tainted words
of youth and youthful desperation
calling myself into oblivion
of lost love and wasted years
so come
as brightened and beaming
settled into this settling
i rise
alive
as she
who know me deeply
holds me to account
for the man I truly am
a light
shining in the darkness
she hold my hand
and rubs my neck
and tells me, sleepily
"I love you, too"
