Google Street View

I've been trying to write an interesting blog for the last month(+), but everytime I sat down to type it out, I was hit with the realization that whatever my subject was wasn't that interesting. I suppose I've been waiting for the perfect post to break my silence.

I think I've found it;

I'm probably years behind, but Google Maps has a relatively new (new to me, anyways) feature called "Google Street View." Its a feature that allows you to view an interactive panorama of many of the streets of major cities accross the world. Here's a picture of the Times Square:

By clicking on the North and South (or East and West) arrows, the user can digitally walk up and down any given street. It's a walking tour of the most coveted tourist attractions without having to leave the comfort of your home. I was most blown away by how extensive the coverage is. I found views of my house here in Augusta;

... as well as a shot of my parents house in Missouri, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Apple Store in Chicago. Privacy invasion and National Security issues aside, I can def. see myself getting in trouble at work for spending too much time on Google Street View (panoramas of where I work are not available on Google Street View.) I love technology.
